A Russian MiG-29A fighter was involved in an accident in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, after colliding with a pole during its transport through the city’s streets.
After the impact, the aircraft struck a barrier at the side of the road. The incident was recorded on video and shared by the YouTube channel ARMENIAN WORLD.
The plane, identified by the tail number “Red 15” (RF-92181) and built in 1989, belongs to the Erebuni Air Base 3624, which hosts Russian fighter jets as part of the CSTO. The unit has become the final destination for the classic MiG-29A, which are gradually being retired from the Russian Aerospace Forces.
According to experts, the aircraft was likely being transported after decommissioning, as its last recorded flight occurred in 2022.
Recently, in August 2025, the Russian Aerospace Forces received a batch of new multi-role Su-35S fighters, replacing part of the aging fleet.
